NBC Officially Names Jimmy Fallon The New Late Night Host
NBC has made it official: Jimmy Fallon will be taking over for Conan O'Brien in the Late Night host chair when O'Brien replaces Jay Leno on The Tonight Show. According to E! Online, 33-year-old Fallon told a press conference at NBC 30 Rock headquarters in Manhattan Monday (May 12th), "It's a comedian's dream to get this job, to work with writers and try to be funny every night." He added, "I'm very excited about this...It's going to be grind, from all the advice I've heard from everybody. I'm ready to work really hard." Executive producer Lorne Michaels said Fallon "probably" would begin his Late Night duties in the first six months of 2009.
